Aliax gaped at the mission board, feeling her spine run cold. Wh-What? This wasn’t POSSIBLE! She knew meth had been demoted, but this was something different! She tore off in the direction of the Superior wing, eyebrows furrowed in anger.

Upon reaching the wing, she soon laid eyes upon the man she wanted to see. Her hand connected with her white-haired Superior’s arm. “What the HELL, Gax?! You’re LEAVING?! How come I didn’t know?!?!”

Gaxon simply raised his light eyebrows at her violent outburst, which wasn’t the first of its kind he had seen. “Oh? I wasn’t aware that ya needed to be let in on all of my personal choices, Aliax.”

“I didn’t mean just ME. I meant the HIGH COUNCIL, Gax! Were we just left out of this?” She stamped her foot a little, causing her Superior to chuckle. “I’m SERIOUS, Gaxon!”

The tall man sighed, ruffling her hair. “I think the High Council needs to learn that they’re not in charge of the Org, Lie, ya know?” He thought that over for a second, then amended his thought, “Well, maybe the Org. You guys are technically right below us Superiors. But, ya gotta realize…” He leaned in and whispered: “You’re not in charge of the Superiors.”

Aliax jumped back, staring up at him. “I know that, Gaxon! But still, we could have been informed!”She shook her head, calming herself down. “I apologize for yelling, Gax. I’m just… mad that you’re leaving, you know? You’re leaving the Org in the hands of my brother and NOXER. It’s a scary thought; admit it.”

“You’re brother is actually a good Superior, you know.”

“Lies, all lies.”

“Suit yourself; it’s YOUR element.” Gaxon chuckled, ruffling her hair. Catching her frown, he removed his hand. “Plus, you’re forgetting: Nox and I made this Org before ya even came along. Day-Nox can keep yer brother in line, an’ Paxvel can keep Night-Nox in check. It’ll be fine, trust me!”

Aliax bit her lip, looking up at him. “…. I really am going to miss you, Gaxon. It won’t be the same without one sane Superior. The Org won’t be the same.”

The Superior chuckled, pulling her into a hug. “Ya know, I’ll still visit. It won’t be like I’m DEAD, or anythin’. This’ll still be my home.”

Aliax held onto him tightly. “Noxer will be glad if you visit.” There was a pause, and she asked quietly, “Are you allowed to tell us what you’re going to do?”

He shook his head, nto meeting her eyes. “No. It’s a solo mission, and one I need to do at that.”

“Oh…”

Someone cleared their throat behind Gaxon, and Aliax pulled away quickly to look at whoever it was.

Noxer grinned at them crookedly. As it was getting late, little bits of his Night persona were showing through. “Sorry to interrupt this little shindig, but I need Gaxon.” He beckoned to his fellow Superior, crooking a finger. “Come here, good sir. We need to talk some more.”

Gaxon sighed, stepping away from Aliax. “I’ll… talk to you later, Aliax, okay? I promise I won’t leave without talking to you again.”

She nodded, and the two Superiors walked away, leaving her in the middle of their wing, alone. With a sigh, Aliax turned and headed back to her own room.

Several hours later, Gaxon sat in his huge Superior room, packing the last of his belongings. He wasn’t leaving for another few days, but what was the use of delaying packing?

There was a soft knock at his door, loud enough to make him look up. He stood, setting the last of his clothes into a bag. By the time had reached the door and opened it, there was no one there. Gax shook his head; surely he had imagined it, then.

Just as he went to shut the door, he saw it: a little, folded note. Bending down, he picked up.

Gaxon.

The writing was obviously Aliax’s. He smiled and shut the door, moving back to his bed to read the note.




Gaxon,

I apologize for me behavior earlier. It was horribly rude of me to assume that you would tell us of your personal plans. I wish you the best of luck


It was as I said earlier: the org won’t be the same without you, Gax. You are the one voice of reason, out of all the Superiors. Of course, this is my selfish side talking.

I hate change. HATE it. And your leaving will be the biggest change this Org has ever gone through. It will be interesting to see how the Org does without you.

I wish you the best of luck on whatever endeavor you are going on, and I want you to know that we at the Org will be behind you always, no matter what you do. We are your family, and I hope you know this as well as we do.

I wish you all the best, and hope you decide to return to us someday. Remember, there is always a next time. There is always a tomorrow.
